Job Title: CFO/Cashier

Location: Marshalltown, Iowa
Responsible for financial activities of the bank and the holding company; responsible for the timeliness, accuracy, and integrity of financial data and ensures that adequate controls are in place. Oversees accounting and financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial management, budgeting process/tracking and financial audit/tax. Assures compliance with applicable bank policies and procedures as well as applicable state and federal banking regulations.
List of Job Duties:
- Accounting and Financial Reporting – Plans, directs, and controls the bank’s accounting and financial reporting systems; supervises accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, receivables, fixed assets and reporting to financial agencies, accurately and timely completes monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports; coordinates with the Board of Directors and department managers to prepare and execute the annual budget; prepares, interprets and presents financial reports to Directors, Shareholders, Executive Management and regulatory agencies; directs financial policies and initiates change as needed.
- Investment Portfolio – Assists in management of the investment portfolio of the bank and recommends policies and procedures that enhance the financial and liquidity position of the bank; consults with tax accountants and other professionals as necessary to recommend an optimal mix of securities to meet the bank’s investment objectives; serves on the Asset/Liability Management Committee.
- Serves as a member of the bank’s Executive Management Team, the Audit Committee, and the Trust Committee.
Required Experience and/or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business or related field required; CPA designation preferred but not required.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Senior Accountant in a financial institution preferred; comparable experience in another industry will be considered.
Supervisory experience a plus.
Excellent analytical, organizational and detail orientation skills required; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision; must display professionalism with other employees and with customers, work effectively as a team contributor and make decisions in light of what would be in the best interest of the bank.
