Description

Calling all singers for Messiah 2025!

Hello hello!

As you turn your calendars to Fall, it’s time to add our community presentation of

Messiah to the correct dates in November and December. We are hoping for a grand

presentation with chad Mussig at the pipe organ and 60+ singers singing their hearts

out. To make sure you know all the dates, I’m sending out the schedule so you can

load your calendars.

First Methodist has graciously allowed us to again have our rehearsals and final

presentation in the stunning, Spirit-filled sanctuary. All group rehearsals and the

presentation will be at this location - 202 W Main in Marshalltown.

Sun., Nov. 9, 3:00-5:00 (chapel) - rehearsal

Sun., Nov. 16, 3:00-5:00 (chapel) - rehearsal, auditions for soloists will follow rehearsal

Sun., Nov. 23, 3:00-5:00 (chapel) - rehearsal

Sun., Nov. 30, 5:30-6:30 soloists, 6:30 full choir (sanctuary)

Sat., Dec. 6, 9:00 AM final rehearsal in the sanctuary

Sun., Dec. 7, 3:00 - Presentation of the 2025 Messiah

If you are interested in being a soloist, auditions will be Nov. 16 following the regular

rehearsal. Be prepared to sing your desired Messiah solo for a committee. I encourage

you to audition for a solo! Please respond to my emails if you are interested.

Do you need a book? If so, you may purchase your copy at rehearsals as the Central

Iowa Choral Society has new copies and a few used ones. If you buy yours online, be

sure to purchase the G Schirmer edition - it’s gray.

I would like to hear from you as to if you plan to sing this year. You may mail to me the

information sheet on the following page (Janet Collison, 404 N 4th St. M’town) or email

the info to me at janet.collison@gmail.com, or text me at 641-750-4408. I would love to

get your name on my sign-up sheet! The more the merrier! Do come and sing! And feel

free to get all your friends to sing as well; hand out this info sheet to people you think

would be interested.

Again, join us. If you are one of those singers that feels you can’t learn the music, but

have always wanted to sing Messiah consider joining us. Give it a try. If you can find a

CD player, I do have rehearsal CD’s available (free) for you to assist you to study the

notes. There are also many great online sources for learning the music, too. I can

guarantee you will not regret a decision to sing as it’s truly fun and an awesome

experience.

Questions? Shoot them my way.

Blessings to you all!
